Provinces should amalgamate. This country is way over governed. There are only 2 million people in Atlantic Canada all having to financially support 4 provincial governments and the fed. No wonder they're poor. It's the same right across Canada. Too few people having to pay for way too much government.

Canada won because they played dirty in the 6th game - with, among others, Bobby Clark, of the Philadelphia bullies, who fractured the ankle of Kharlamov, one of the best Soviet players, with a stick, of ax, well calculated. Shame on Canada!

Le Canada a gagné parce qu'ils ont joué salaud au 6ème match - avec Bobby Clark, des brutes de Philadelphie, qui a fracturé la cheville de Kharlamov, avec un coup de bâton, de hache, bien calculé. Honte au Canada!

Amundsen had just 6 man crew in Gjoa. In exact opposite to Peary who stole the meteorite which was rare source of iron for inuits, Norwegians forged tools for inuits and hunted caribou for them with their rifles, in exchange of inuits guiding them on cartographing and chasing magnetic north pole. It was an doctorate exam for Amundsen, Hanssen and Lindström, who all rejoined couple years later to take south pole.

What a disingenuous piece of propaganda. Shame on your participation in Lord Durham's 1840 agenda to //pesticide// the Quebecers. You are worst than the violent British soldiers of the days, because you lack the strength that oppression requires, so you hide behind the comfort of writing propaganda.

The Falcons were made up of Icelandic immigrants and second generation Icelandic Canadians who'd been barred from playing on other teams due to ethnic prejudice. Having won the Allan Cup it's somewhat ironic they won the first gold for a country that was hostile toward them.
